A guy in my unit was over 20k in debt and they didn't suspend his clearance, because he was paying it off in a timely manner. Unless you got fired for stealing (which would also result in a criminal record, if the employer was taking the proper steps) or something more egregious, you're gonna be ok.Īnd as far as your debt goes, you're in the clear. Even if an investigator went around to your former bosses (unlikely), what proof do they have? They focus more on friends, family, character references, neighbors. You don't work at these places anymore, and also I doubt your old employers keep copies of written warnings for former employees, if they even made copies in the first place.
#35f mos security clearance full#
That being said, what happens in the worst case scenario? What will they do if I don't get full approval for my security clearance? I'm hoping being late one too many times to the sandwich shop isn't going to make them think I can't be trusted Army secrets. I would've been totally clean if I would've joined out of high school, because I didn't have any job experience and I certainly didn't have any credit cards. I'm 23 and paid my way through college working shitty part-time jobs. You rack up more achievements/punishments as you get older. To be specific, I've had three credit cards go to collections (two paid off completely, one is being paid every month with a zero balance about a week before I ship), I've gotten about three written warnings for minor things (mostly tardiness), and I was fired from two jobs. Mind you, my clearance is still processing now, and likely won't be done until after I've started basic. I have my contract and my orders with a tentative clearance approval from the liaison at MEPS. I've had a few credit cards sent to collections and got one or two written warnings at jobs in the past, which they said jeopardizes my security clearance. That job requires a Top Secret security clearance. I've posted a few times in here regarding the subject, but I ship for basic in a few months as a 35F (intel analyst).
